Patient's Right

At JKQMWC, we are dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare in a safe and respectful environment. We believe that understanding your rights and responsibilities is essential to ensure a collaborative and effective healthcare experience. This guide outlines what you can expect from us and what we expect from you during your stay or visit.

  1. You have the right to receive considerate, respectful, and compassionate health care in a safe setting regardless of your age, sex, gender, religion, ethnicity, political affiliation, disability, or capacity to pay, free from all forms of abuse, neglect, or ill treatment.
  2. You have the right to be assigned to a competent doctor/resident physician and be informed of the names of all healthcare team members who are qualified to provide diagnosis, treatment, and medical advice. Likewise, you have the right to know your hospital and physician fees and receive information about the possibility of financial assistance.
  3. You have the right to notify a family member or person of your choice and your chosen doctor of your admission to the hospital.
  4. You have the right to have someone remain with you during your hospital stay unless it compromises your or others' rights, safety, or health.
  5. You have the right to exercise your spiritual and cultural beliefs within the capacity and rules of the hospital/medical center.
  6. You have the right to be informed and give consent before any non-emergency procedure or research/experiment, or to refuse such.
  7. You have the right to privacy and confidentiality of your medical records according to laws, as well as in care discussions, examinations, and treatments, and the right to see or get a copy of your medical records except those records restricted by law.
  8. You may request an escort during physical examinations.
  9. You have the right to be represented by someone (assignee) to decide on your behalf when the circumstances warrant.
  10. You have the right to ask about and be informed of the complaint process and express grievances without fear of recrimination or reprisal. You are encouraged to speak directly to the healthcare provider involved in your care.
Patient's Responsibilities
  1. Responsibility to provide complete and truthful information about your health, including past illnesses, hospital stays, surgeries, allergies, and use of medicines/other forms of treatment.
  2. Responsibility to know the members of your health care team.
  3. Responsibility to be involved in the decisions regarding your healthcare.
  4. Responsibility to ask questions regarding the nature of your illness and its management including options, likely outcomes, benefits, risks, and costs.
  5. Responsibility to ask questions whenever you are not sure of the information or instructions given to you.
  6. Responsibility to tell the health care team if you have problems adhering to the plan of care as agreed upon.
  7. Responsibility to follow hospital rules and regulations affecting patient care, safety, and conduct.
  8. Responsibility to be considerate of the rights of other patients, doctors, nurses, staff, and the hospital, including the regulations pertaining to privacy, confidentiality, noise control, smoking, visitors, and visiting hours.
  9. Responsibility to promptly pay all bills related to your care according to the hospital policies.
  10. Responsibility to recognize the effect of lifestyle on your personal health, and in so doing make responsible decisions in your daily life.
